Pictures and drawing stimulate the mind.
I can’t just hand people a piece of paper and teach them to draw. I teach them a visual alphabet: 12 different shapes.
The shapes our “nouns.” Panels are “sentences.”
People understand visual metaphors. Monkey tree metaphor for business organization: The higher you are on the tree, the more authority you have. If you look down, all you see is smiling monkey faces; if you look up, all you see are a-holes.
You will have different visual needs for different purposes.
…for yourself–to see better.
…to think better.
…to imagine things you might not even think of
…to align. Have people who are arguing draw what they are feeling–it changes the dynamic. Words tend to divide, pictures tend to unite.
